Star Wars: Shieldwall Defense Satellite
The Shieldwall-class defense satellite is the first major product to come out of the promising new start-up company Orbital Automated Industries. Based in the Tion Hegemony, Orbital Automated Industries is one of the few companies from that region of the galaxy not in some way linked to Santhe-Seinar, one of its subsidiaries, or House Santhe itself. The Shieldwall defense satellite is an impressive debut product, being durable, heavily armed, and capable of extended independent operation.
This idea originally created by Kayle Skolaris.
Resembling a fifty meter long petrochemical drum, the Shieldwall is completely automated and capable of maintaining unimpeded functionality for up to six months at a time. Onboard internal mechanisms require a password update every six months or the entire satellite goes inert until such time as the passwords are updated. This is a safety feature meant to enhance, rather than limit the satellite’s utility, as it ensures that proper maintenance is provided in a timely manner. This maintenance is vital due to the extensive droid automation used aboard the satellite. During testing it was determined that after seven or eight months of independent operation, the droid minds began to develop ever-stranger quirks which made them a danger to anything in nearby space, including the planet below! Offensively the station is highly impressive, mounting a single light turbolaser emplacement surrounded by eight long-range concussion missile launchers. These weapons allow for excellent stand-off capability with a targeting package that is second to none. Defensively the Shieldwall sports extremely heavy armor and shielding sufficient to allow it to survive multiple impacts from light capital ship weapons and render it virtually immune to smaller starfighter guns and torpedoes. The sole drawback to the Shieldwall is its price tag, which is over half a million credits per unit. Even so, the Shieldwall is already selling at a rate faster than Orbital Automated Industries can produce them, with a delivery waiting list currently at three weeks per dozen units and increasing daily!

Special Notes:
Automated Systems: Each system gets two ‘actions’ per combat turn at no die penalty
Immobile: While the Shieldwall is capable of reorientating itself to stay in an optimum firing position, it is not capable of dodging.
Maintenance Requirements: The Shieldwall MUST receive maintenance every 180 days or internal safeties will shut the satellite down until such maintenance is given. If a Shieldwall is allowed to shutdown in this fashion, restarting the systems is a prolonged task requiring up to 8 hours (8 hours -1 hour for every five points over a Difficult Computer Programming roll made with a minimum of 1 hour required)
